Your EU Responsible Person under the General Product Safety Regulation

FAQ

Short answers about the EU Responsible Person role and GPSR market access.

Questions

Is getGPSR.eu an official EU certification body?

No. There is no such thing as "GPSR certification" - no EU authority certifies consumer products under the GPSR. We act as your EU Responsible Person, a defined legal role under Article 16, not a certifier.

Is every non-EU seller required to appoint a Responsible Person?

No. Only if no existing EU manufacturer, importer, authorised representative or fulfilment provider already covers the role for that product.

What's the difference between a Responsible Person and an Authorised Representative?

Every product in scope of the GPSR needs a Responsible Person established in the EU. An Authorised Representative is one way to fill that role. We act as your Authorised Representative and, in that capacity, take on the Responsible Person duties under Article 16.

Do you accept every product?

No. We accept an appointment only after a compliance review. Some categories - medical devices, cosmetics, food, chemicals as substances, high-risk machinery - are outside the scope of this service; see Products we support.

What happens if my product needs testing or documentation I don't have?

We tell you what's missing and can prepare it under the Market Access package, including coordination with testing laboratories where relevant.
