Online listing requirements
What every EU listing must show.
Your EU Responsible Person under the General Product Safety Regulation
US brands selling to EU consumers - through their own store or through marketplaces - need an economic operator established in the EU for each product, and GPSR-compliant labels and listings.
| Selling in the US | Selling to the EU under the GPSR | |
|---|---|---|
| Local contact | Your US business | An economic operator established in the EU (Article 16) |
| Product information | Depends on product rules | Identifier, manufacturer and EU contact details, warnings in local languages |
| Online listings | Marketplace rules | Article 19 information in every offer |
| Incidents | CPSC reporting rules | Safety Business Gateway notifications |
The GPSR has no small-seller exemption. A craft seller on Etsy shipping to EU customers needs the same EU contact point and listing information as a large brand, although the documentation scales with the product's risks.
Check whether an EU importer already covers your product. If you sell directly to EU consumers, appoint an EU Responsible Person, update your packaging, and add the required information to every EU listing.

No. The obligations apply regardless of seller size, although the documentation scales with the product's risks.
No. The EU contact must be an economic operator established in the EU; your US details are shown as the manufacturer's details.
